Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times
Tough times won’t last but tough people will. It’s time for us to share our own stories about how we’ve overcome tough times ourselves, both during the pandemic and prior to that. This book will be published November 2, 2021 so we’re hoping the pandemic will be in the rearview mirror at that point.
We’re looking for your stories about every kind of tough time and how you found your inner strength, your resilience, your empowerment, your creativity, and your support system to get through it. You could be sharing about the pandemic, and its health, economic, social and mental challenges.
Or you could be sharing about any other challenge you’ve faced, whether caused by family upheaval, death or disease, mental health issues, substance abuse, financial problems, crime, natural disasters, loss of homes, and all the other things that affect all of us as we live our lives.
When we published a book in 2009 called Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People we ended up with about half the stories being directly related to the impact of the recession that was occurring at that time. The other stories were about tough times in general. It was a great mix of advice and comfort for our readers.
If we publish your story, you will be paid $200 one month after publication of the book, and you will receive ten free copies of the book your story or poem appears in. Word limit is 1200 words.
