Institute of Children's Literature: Kid Inventor Picture Book Contest

It's time to get inventive!

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a picture book manuscript suitable for ages 4-8. Your story should include at least one child inventor, at least one invention, and of course, have a beginning, middle, and end. When you've written no more than 750 words, polish it up, holler, "Eureka!" and submit it!

1st prize = $650, 2nd prize = $350, 3rd prize = $100, 4th prize = $100, 5th prize = $100

All entrants are invited to a free instructional online workshop with our esteemed judge and the Director of the Institute of Children's Literature and Institute for Writers. Winning entries will be workshopped by our judge to help writers understand what worked and what could be improved to make it submission-ready.

Entry fee - $19. Deadline to enter – February 28, 2018.
