Inaugurated by the National Academy of Poets in April 1996,

National Poetry Month brings together publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools and poets around the country to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture.

As part of this annual celebration, we are pleased to present Poetry Matters 2013, 13th Annual Poetry Month Contest, an award honoring poets and showcasing their work in both written and video form.

Two poem limit per contestant. No entry fee. Cash Prizes are given to 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), 3rd ($50) and 4th ($35) place winners. Postmark deadline: March 30, 2013
