From Sheila Seifert, Editorial Director for Thriving Family magazine:

Theme: Send your ideas for parent-child activities, with associated Scriptures, that could be put on our 2011 summer calendar. These activities should be geared toward children who are 5 to 10 years old. This calendar will be similar to our June 2010 summer calendar (http://www.thrivingfamily.com/Features/Magazine/2010/may/seize-smmr-jun.aspx) and our July 2010 summer calendar (http://www.thrivingfamily.com/Features/Magazine/2010/jun/seize-smmr-july.aspx), but these activities should focus on “Faith on the Go” ideas. They should be things you can do with your kids with few to no props, even if you’re in the car, and help kids understand a faith principle. As always, the ideas should be unique and original! (And not be a repeat of any previous calendar idea.)

Word Count: Each idea should be between 10 and 50 words. If you are unable to get your word count down to 50 words, you may send a longer idea that, if accepted, will be cut down to the appropriate word count.

Rights: First nonexclusive rights

Payment: $10 per accepted calendar entry, so send as many as you want in a single e-mail.

Date Due: Ideas will be considered as they arrive on a first-come-first-considered basis. No ideas should be sent after December 6, 2010

Byline: No byline is given because these are calendar entries.

Acceptance or Rejection: The Thriving Family editors appreciate your calendar entry ideas. If they are not accepted by January 3, 2011, your calendar ideas were not chosen for publication. We hope to work with you on a different project at a later time.

Submit it: Please send your summer calendar ideas to thrivingfamilysubmissions@family.org and put “Attn: Michael Ridgeway, Summer Calendar Ideas (FNER–SC50w/10–D6J3)” in the subject line.
